RGB Pixel Cabochons – Individually Addressable
RGB Pixel Cabochons contain an internal pixel module, giving each lamp its own unique address within the data stream.
Every cabochon can behave completely differently — regardless of where it sits in the chain. This makes them ideal for detailed animations, gradients, complex lighting sequences, and creative installations where you need full independent control over every single lamp.

How Individually Addressable Pixel Cabochons Work
Unlike position-based systems where all "first" lamps match and all "second" lamps match, individually addressable pixel cabochons each have their own unique address. The controller can send different colour instructions to each lamp independently, allowing complete creative freedom — gradients, random sparkles, video-mapped content, scrolling text, and effects that don't follow any chain order.
Compatible Control Options
Pixel Controllers – Dedicated controllers like the K8000 or Micro Pixel CYP allow full programming of custom effects and animations.
DMX Systems – Use a DMX-to-pixel decoder to control these cabochons from professional DMX lighting desks or software.
Installation Requirements
Pixel cabochons require proper pixel wiring (data line + power + ground), a suitable power supply for the total load, and attention to data-line length and voltage drop when chaining many lamps. Available in multiple diameters including 42mm, 46mm, and 60mm. Recommended for those comfortable with pixel installations or professional installers.
Ideal Applications
Perfect for creative signage, video walls, pixel-mapped installations, professional show lighting, themed attractions, and any project where every lamp needs to display something different.
Not Sure Which Type You Need?
If you want simple synchronised chase effects without programming individual lamps, our RGB DMX-SPI Plug-and-Play Cabochons may be easier to install. For a full explanation of the differences, read our guide: LED Types Explained.
