Frequently Asked Questions

What accessories do I need for fairground lights?
You’ll usually need bases or bulb holders, lenses, and connectors to complete a fairground lighting system. For LED cabochon lights, choose E10 or E14 components to match your bulbs and voltage.
Are these accessories compatible with LED cabochon lights?
Yes. All our fairground light accessories are compatible with both traditional and LED cabochon lighting systems, including E10 and E14 fittings used in signage and decorative lighting.
Can I use 12V and 24V fairground lights together?
No — always match voltage across your system. Use either 12V or 24V components and pair them with a constant-voltage power supply of the same rating. Our guide Choosing the Right Power Supply explains how to size your PSU safely.
How do I wire fairground lights safely?
Wire your lights using correct polarity and secure connections between the power supply and bases. Our Wiring Fairground Lights guide shows recommended cable types and connection methods.
Can I use these accessories outdoors?
Yes — when installed with appropriate IP-rated fittings and sealed connections. See our Fairground Lights Installation Guide for waterproofing and enclosure tips.
Where can I find more guidance on fairground lighting?
We have a wealth of information in our LED Know-How section, including Fairground Lights Overview: Choosing Your Bulbs and Fairground Lights Installation Guide.

What's in This Collection

Cable

1.5mm 25A LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) tri-rated cable — the correct specification for fairground and marquee lighting wiring. Sold per metre and per reel. LSZH rated cable is recommended for installations in enclosed spaces, public-facing venues and anywhere fire safety compliance is a consideration.

Lever Connectors

Wago 221-equivalent reusable lever connectors in 1-way, 2-way, 3-way and 5-way configurations. Suitable for solid, stranded and flexible cable from 0.14–4mm². The fastest and most reliable method for making secure connections between lampholders and cable runs without soldering. Sold in packs of 10, 50 and 100.

Splice Connectors

T1, T2 and red splice connectors for tapping directly into existing insulated cable without stripping. Useful for connecting individual lampholders to a main cable run without cutting into it. No soldering required.

DC Barrel Connectors

2.1mm DC inline plugs, sockets and panel-mount sockets for connecting plug-in power supplies to cable runs. Available in screw and solder termination options. Essential for installations using plug-in PSUs where a clean, reversible connection between the power supply and the display is needed.

Waterproof Connectors

2-pin waterproof connectors for outdoor or exposed installations where moisture ingress at connection points is a risk. Sold in male and female pairs.

Plug-In Power Supplies

24V plug-in PSUs from Ecopac and MEAN WELL in 18W, 20W, 24W, 36W and 65W ratings. Plug-in style PSUs are suited to smaller installations, temporary displays and installations where hardwired power is not practical. For larger static installations, see the MEAN WELL DIN-rail PSUs available in the Kits collection. For colour-changing and pixel system PSUs, see Colour-Changing Fairground Lights.

Sizing Your Power Supply

Add up the wattage of all bulbs in your installation and choose a PSU rated at least 20% higher than that total to allow headroom. Each E10 or E14 24V LED bulb draws approximately 1.2W. For example, 20 bulbs × 1.2W = 24W total load — a 36W PSU would be the correct choice, giving safe headroom.
