Rechargeable Battery Pack 12V 20Ah – Extended Runtime for 12V LEDs

Need your LEDs to run longer between charges? This higher-capacity battery pack delivers 60% more runtime than our 12.5Ah version – perfect for full-day events, multi-day installations, or simply reducing how often you need to recharge.

Here's how it works: This battery pack stores 20 amp-hours of power at 12V. Connect your 12V LEDs to the output, and the battery delivers clean, stable power until it needs recharging. Think of amp-hours like a fuel tank – the bigger your LED load, the faster you use the fuel. A small 1-metre strip could run for 50 hours, while a larger installation might run for 8-10 hours.

Why it matters: For market traders, event organisers, and anyone running portable LED displays, battery life is everything. Running out of power mid-event isn't an option. This pack gives you the headroom to run brighter displays, longer hours, or simply the peace of mind that comes with extra capacity.

Key Advantages

  • 222Wh total energy capacity – 60% more power than our 12.5Ah pack. Run the same LEDs for longer, or power bigger installations for the same duration.
  • 5A maximum continuous output – Handles up to 60W of 12V LEDs simultaneously. Same output capability as the smaller pack, but with significantly more staying power.
  • Built-in BMS protection – Overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and overcurrent protection built into every pack. The battery looks after itself.
  • Standard DC 5.5x2.1mm connectors – Both male and female connectors included with 20cm leads. Plugs directly into most 12V LED products.
  • 500+ charge cycles – Maintains at least 70% capacity after 500 full charge/discharge cycles. Years of reliable service with proper care.

Perfect Applications

  • Full-day market trading – Power illuminated signage from dawn setup to evening pack-down without worrying about running flat. One charge covers even the longest trading days.
  • Multi-day events and festivals – The extra capacity means you can potentially run two shorter days on a single charge, or have plenty of reserve for unexpected extensions.

Also ideal for fairground lighting, portable signage, exhibition displays, outdoor events, and any situation where extended runtime matters more than minimising weight.

⚡ Battery Guide – How Many Do I Need?

Find your total LED wattage in the left column, then read across to see how many batteries you need for your desired runtime.

📐 Quick Formula: Total Watts ÷ 12 = Amps needed. Then: Battery Ah ÷ Amps = Runtime hours

LED Load 4-6 hrs 6-8 hrs 8-10 hrs 10+ hrs
12W (1A) 1× 12.5Ah 1× 12.5Ah 1× 12.5Ah 1× 20Ah
24W (2A) 1× 12.5Ah 1× 12.5Ah 1× 20Ah 1× 20Ah
36W (3A) 1× 12.5Ah 1× 20Ah 1× 20Ah 2× 12.5Ah
48W (4A) 1× 12.5Ah ⚡ 1× 20Ah ⚡ 2× 20Ah 2× 20Ah
60W (5A) 1× 12.5Ah ⚡ 2× 12.5Ah 2× 20Ah 2× 20Ah
84W (7A) 2× 12.5Ah ⚡ 2× 20Ah ⚡ 2× 20Ah 3× 20Ah
120W (10A) 2× 20Ah ⚡ 3× 20Ah ⚡ 3× 20Ah 4× 20Ah

Key:

12.5Ah battery – best value

20Ah battery – longer runtime

Multiple batteries – split LEDs into sections

= Over 3A per section – use lever splice connectors instead of DC plugs

⚠️ 5A Maximum Per Battery: Loads over 60W must be split into separate electrical sections. Each section gets its own battery – never connect multiple batteries to the same LED section.

⚠️ Important: Maximum Load & Connections

Maximum continuous output: 5A (60W at 12V)

If your total LED load exceeds 5A, split it across multiple battery packs – one battery per section. Never connect more than 60W of LEDs to a single battery pack.

Example: Need to power 10 metres of ECO 60 strip (48W = 4A)? One battery is fine. Need 15 metres (72W = 6A)? Split into two runs powered by separate batteries.

Golden Rule: Never use more than one power source per LED section. Each strip/flex/module run connects to its own single power source.

Choosing the Right Connections

✅ Loads Under 3A

Use standard DC connectors and extension leads – plug and play with the battery's included connectors.

⚡ Loads 3A – 5A

Cut the male DC connector off the battery's output lead and use lever splice connectors to join directly to your LED cables.
