Rechargeable Battery Pack 12V 12.5Ah – Portable Power for 12V LEDs
Sometimes mains power just isn't an option. Whether you're lighting a market stall, powering fairground lettering, creating a portable display, or illuminating signage at an outdoor event – you need reliable, rechargeable power that won't let you down halfway through the day.
Here's how it works: This battery pack stores 12.5 amp-hours of power at 12V. Connect your 12V LEDs to the output, and the battery delivers clean, stable power until it needs recharging. Think of amp-hours like a fuel tank – the bigger your LED load, the faster you use the fuel. A small 1-metre strip might run for 30+ hours, while a larger installation might run for 6-8 hours.
Why it matters: Without portable power, you're either running extension leads (trip hazards, weatherproofing nightmares) or simply can't install lighting where you need it. This battery eliminates those problems – fully charged, it's ready to go wherever your project takes you.
Key Advantages
-
150Wh total energy capacity – Enough power for serious LED installations, not just a few fairy lights. Run metres of strip or dozens of modules for hours at a time.
-
5A maximum continuous output – Handles up to 60W of 12V LEDs simultaneously without overloading. That's roughly 12 metres of standard strip or 80+ LED modules.
-
Built-in BMS protection – Overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and overcurrent protection built into every pack. The battery looks after itself.
-
Standard DC 5.5x2.1mm connectors – Both male and female connectors included with 20cm leads. Plugs directly into most 12V LED products.
-
500+ charge cycles – Maintains at least 70% capacity after 500 full charge/discharge cycles. Years of reliable service with proper care.
Perfect Applications
-
Market stalls and pop-up retail – Power illuminated signage, display lighting, or product showcases without hunting for a generator or mains socket. A single charge can easily cover a full trading day.
-
Fairground and carnival lighting – Run traditional-style LED fairground modules on rides, stalls, or attractions. The 5A output handles multiple strings of modules, and the compact size tucks away neatly.
Also ideal for portable signage, outdoor events, exhibition displays, emergency backup lighting, and any temporary 12V LED installation where mains power is impractical or unavailable.

Key:
12.5Ah battery – best value
20Ah battery – longer runtime
Multiple batteries – split LEDs into sections
⚡ = Over 3A per section – use lever splice connectors instead of DC plugs
⚠️ 5A Maximum Per Battery: Loads over 60W must be split into separate electrical sections. Each section gets its own battery – never connect multiple batteries to the same LED section.
⚠️ Important: Maximum Load & Connections
Maximum continuous output: 5A (60W at 12V)
If your total LED load exceeds 5A, split it across multiple battery packs – one battery per section. Never connect more than 60W of LEDs to a single battery pack.
Example: Need to power 10 metres of ECO 60 strip (48W = 4A)? One battery is fine. Need 15 metres (72W = 6A)? Split into two runs powered by separate batteries.
Golden Rule: Never use more than one power source per LED section. Each strip/flex/module run connects to its own single power source.
Choosing the Right Connections
✅ Loads Under 3A
Use standard DC connectors and extension leads – plug and play with the battery's included connectors.

⚡ Loads 3A – 5A
Cut the male DC connector off the battery's output lead and use lever splice connectors to join directly to your LED cables.

What You Receive:
- 1x 12V 12.5Ah Li-ion Battery Pack – Complete with PVC shrink-wrap housing (blue), built-in BMS protection board, and thermal protection
- DC 5.5x2.1mm female connector – 20cm cable length, for connecting to your LEDs
- DC 5.5x2.1mm male connector – 20cm cable length, for connecting to charger
What's Not Included:
Important: DC Connector Ratings
The battery can output up to 5A, but standard DC extension leads and connectors are typically rated for 1-3A only.
- Loads under 3A: Use our standard DC connectors and leads – plug and play with the battery's included connectors.
- Loads between 3-5A: Cut the male DC connector off the battery's output lead and use lever splice connectors (similar to Wago connectors) to join the battery wires directly to your LED cables. This gives you a solid, higher-rated connection without the limitations of DC barrel connectors.
Check your total current draw before choosing connection method. When in doubt, contact us for advice.

What Is a Li-ion Battery Pack?
This is a lithium-ion battery pack – the same rechargeable technology used in laptops, power tools, and electric vehicles. Inside, 15 individual 18650 cells are arranged in a 3S5P configuration (3 in series for voltage, 5 in parallel for capacity). A built-in Battery Management System (BMS) monitors and protects the cells automatically.
In Plain English: This battery stores enough power to run up to 60 watts of 12V LEDs. At low loads, it'll run for over 30 hours. At maximum load, expect around 2.5 hours. Recharge it with the compatible charger, and it's ready for another 500+ cycles.
