Different Types of LED Strip Lighting
Different Types of LED Strip Lighting
An LED light strip is a flexible circuit board populated with rows of individual LED emitters, designed for quick and simple installation, energy efficiency, and versatility. These innovative light sources offer long lifespans, suitability for a variety of applications, and greater brightness compared with traditional fixtures like halogen and incandescent bulbs.
If you need a high-power, low-energy solution for your next lighting project or event, there’s sure to be an LED strip for you. Here’s a look at some of the different types of LED strips available from WeLoveLEDs, including SuperSlim, water-resistant and eco versions.
- Classic LED strip lighting
- SuperSlim LED strip lighting

Classic LED strip lighting
Our classic LED strips are available in a range of static colours, including blue, green, red, and both pure and warm white, as well as RGB. Pure and warm white strips such as the Classic 120 24v are ideal for discreet lighting and adding ambience to a room.
All our classic strips are designed for longevity, with lifespans of up to 30,000 hours. With pre-mounted adhesive backing, they’re easy to install on clean, dry surfaces. These are best for indoor use only.

SuperSlim LED strip lighting
SuperSlim strips are just a few millimetres wide—ideal for lighting narrow profiles such as bannisters and doorways. They can be cut to custom lengths, letting you create tailored lighting displays without surface limitations.
The UltraSlim 168 and Ultra 180 strips are just 4mm wide—great for accent lighting at home or in the office. Both are IP20 rated and should only be used indoors.

Colour Changing LED Strip Lighting
We offer colour changing LED strips in RGB and RGBW options. RGB strips contain red, green, and blue chips for a full rainbow effect, while RGBW adds a fourth white chip to switch the colour temperature between decorative and standard white.
The S-Type 48 RGB bends around corners, making it perfect for illuminating built-up channel letters and signage. For decorative uses, try the Pixel 60 or Pixel 60 RIGID for vibrant, animated displays.

Water-Resistant LED Strip Lighting
Water-resistant LED strips have all the benefits of standard types, with extra protection from moisture thanks to higher IP ratings. They’re perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, gardens, and anywhere splashes are likely.
Install them with the correct fixings and protection—they’re splash and rain resistant, but shouldn’t be fully submerged. The Water Resistant 60 LED Strip comes in pure or warm white, while the Water Resistant 60 RGB LED Strip gives you more colour.

Eco LED Strip Lighting
All LEDs are eco-friendly compared to halogen or incandescent bulbs, but our eco range is engineered for even lower power consumption. These strips use non-toxic materials and help save even more energy.
Our Eco 60 Strip 12v comes in pure or warm white, with a slim profile for discreet installations. IP20 rated and dimmable, it’s ideal for indoor applications.
