SGNANO LED Module – The Smallest Sign Module That Actually Works
When you're building channel letters with only 30-40mm depth, most LED modules simply won't fit – or if they do, they create hotspots and uneven illumination. The SGNANO solves this problem with an ultra-compact 9mm x 6.8mm footprint that delivers proper, even light output in spaces where nothing else will work.
Here's how it works: Each tiny module contains a single high-efficiency SMD2835 LED that produces 20 lumens at just 0.2 watts. String them together (up to 100 on a single run), space them 20-25mm apart, and you get smooth, consistent illumination across even the trickiest letterforms.
Why it matters: In shallow returns, using modules that are too large creates visible hotspots – bright circles where each LED sits, with dark patches in between. The SGNANO's compact size and 120° beam angle eliminates this problem, giving you professional results in letters that would otherwise look amateur.
Key Advantages:
-
Ultra-compact 9mm size – Fits where standard modules physically can't, opening up shallow letter designs that were previously impossible
-
100 Lm/W efficiency – Delivers proper brightness without the heat buildup that degrades LEDs in enclosed spaces
-
IP67 fully waterproof – Completely sealed for permanent outdoor installations in all UK weather conditions
-
MacAdam 4 colour consistency – No variation between modules, so your signage looks uniform across the entire face
-
Flexible chain design – Cut between any module to get exactly the length you need, no waste
Perfect Applications:
-
Shallow channel letters (30-40mm depth) – The sweet spot for this module; provides even illumination without hotspots in letters where standard modules would create visible bright spots
-
Encapsulated acrylic letters – Small enough to embed in 30mm block acrylic while maintaining proper light distribution across the letter face
Also ideal for small light boxes, tight radius curves in letterforms, decorative trim lighting, and any compact signage application where space is at a premium but light quality isn't negotiable.

What This Module Actually Is
The SGNANO is a single-LED module – essentially one SMD2835 LED chip mounted on a tiny circuit board with waterproof encapsulation. Unlike larger modules that use 2-4 LEDs per unit, the single-LED design allows for much tighter spacing, which is exactly what you need when illuminating narrow or shallow letters.
In Plain English: Each module is about the size of a small fingernail (9mm long), draws roughly the same power as a single fairy light, and can be daisy-chained up to 100 modules on one power feed.

Quality Notes
- Tolerance on specs: Optical and electrical values have a ±15% tolerance range

- For large installations: Consider splitting into multiple circuits rather than running maximum chain lengths to reduce voltage drop
