Why Choose 24V LED Strip?

The key advantage of 24V over 12V is performance over distance. At 12V, voltage drop becomes noticeable on runs beyond around 5 metres — brightness dims toward the far end of the strip. At 24V, the same wattage draws half the current, which means voltage drop is significantly reduced and you can run longer lengths from a single feed point. For commercial fit-outs, retail displays, architectural lighting and any run over 5 metres, 24V is the more reliable and cost-effective choice. For shorter domestic installations, 12V LED strip works perfectly well.

Types of 24V LED Strip

Single-colour white – Available across the full colour temperature range from warm white (2700K) through to cool white (6500K). The standard choice for commercial task lighting, retail displays and architectural installations.

COB LED strip – Chip-on-board technology delivers a perfectly smooth, dot-free line of light at 24V. Ideal for channel letters, cove lighting and feature installations where the strip itself is on show and hotspots are unacceptable.

Tunable white (CCT) – Dual-channel strip that lets you adjust colour temperature from warm to cool via a compatible CCT controller. Ideal for spaces where lighting mood needs to change throughout the day.

RGB & RGBW – Colour-changing 24V strip for retail, hospitality and creative installations. The higher voltage makes RGBW particularly well suited to longer colour-changing runs. Requires a compatible RGB controller.

Waterproof (IP65–IP67) – Silicone-coated and resin-filled options for bathrooms, outdoor signage, and exposed environments. Always select the correct IP rating for the installation location.

Power Supplies for 24V LED Strip

All 24V LED strip requires a regulated 24V DC power supply. Add up your total strip wattage and choose a driver with at least 20% headroom — a 100W load needs a minimum 120W driver.
