A guide to LED dots
When it comes to lighting, there is no technology more versatile than the light emitting diode (LED). LED dots—small, individual LED bulbs— produce a uniquely creative effect when pushed through a suitable surface. Unlike strips, dots can be positioned to create a spotted pattern. Our LED dots come in 50-dot strings with a 90° beam angle for a distinct ‘spot’ look.
With limitless positioning possibilities and an array of colours, LED dots suit any decorative or display project. Colour influences mood and atmosphere—this guide explores the LED dot range from WeLoveLEDs, their benefits and uses.

What are LED dots?
LED dots are individual LED emitters mounted in strings or matrices, ideal for decorative spot effects. We offer 9 mm dots and 12 mm dots, easily installed through surfaces up to 3 mm thick.
Benefits of LED dots
Low voltage
Operating at 5 V or 12 V, our dots are safe and versatile—perfect for caravans, boats or any low-voltage application.
Outdoor-ready
All dots are IP66-rated and fully encapsulated, making them ideal for year-round outdoor use.
Long life
With up to 30 000 hours’ lifespan, LED dots minimise maintenance even when installed in hard-to-reach locations.
Colour range
Choose from pure white, cool white, red, yellow, green and blue via our 9 mm range, or go full-colour with the DOT12 RGB and a compatible RGB controller.
Spot effect
Designed for a narrow 90° beam, LED dots create clear, defined spots—perfect for matrix displays or accent lighting.

LED dots brighten kitchens (under-cabinet and plinth lighting), garden features, motorhomes and more. They add flair to hospitality venues, highlight signage in retail spaces and transform events with dynamic colour effects.
